Soon Santa will be here!

Yes, 11 days from today it's Christmas Eve, 24th of December. That's the day that we share Christmas presents here in Sweden with our nearest and dearest. Perhaps Santa will show up. Who knows ;-)

Howsomever, I've all my gifts ready for that day, so now I'm going to write all the Christmas cards to send off to friends and family.

I like the Christmas time, not because of the gifts, but for all the decorations and lights that we put up in windows and so on. It lightens up and shines so beautiful, this dark time of the year. Advent stars, Christmas trees and so on.

I hope you will have a nice day!

"Through" out the Christmas!

On Monday I think I’ll clean out the Christmas. It’s hard to remove all the Christmas decorations, candle holders, tablecloths, goblins and all the other figures. I have to do it one of these days, so Monday it will be – if nothing else comes in my way.

Got this one in November from my friend Anna in Göteborg, and it's still blooming :)

This Mini Amaryllis I got from my friend Ingrid in Drared, and it's also still blooming. When I thought this one was overblown these two lovely flowers popped up :)

All the little birds are hungry and frozen in this cold winter weather.

Now I'm a bit tired of all this SNOW!!!

HAVE A NICE WINTERDAY!

The Kitchen ceiling lamp became a Soda Streamer!

I wanted a new lamp in my kitchen, so said and done; I went to the electrical shop and bought a nice green lamp that I liked. When I came home I unpacked the lamp, and took down the old one, but when I looked closer I saw a scratch in the varnish. Just a small one, but if you pay 500 sek for something you want it to be faultless. I do anyhow.
Bertil went back to the shop to get a new lamp, but they didn’t have anyone at home, so we had to wait a week for a new one.
After a week we got the new lamp, and we unpacked this one too, and it was the same thing with this one. We went back to the store once again (fortunately the shop isn’t very far from here), and this time I decided that we should look at the lamp before we took it home. The only thing was that they didn’t have any green lamps left, not even back in the store room.
They had one green lamp hanging in the store, but it was the same thing with this one.
Sigh!!!! (Suck).
They had other colors on these lamps, red, black and white, and there were no scratches on these. Very strange (?). Sigh – again! I didn’t want any red, black or white lamp – I WANTED A GREEEEN ONE!!!!
We (Bertil, I and the man in the store) came to the conclusion that the machine that stamped out the lamps must have had some kind of imperfection when it made the green lamps. =((((((
In this situation I gave up my desire for a new kitchen ceiling lamp and bought us a Soda Streamer instead, whom we will have a lot of delightedness from.
I’ve put the thought of a new lamp “on the shelf”, for now anyhow.

My days just flies off!

Already Thursday?
My days (Thursday-Saturday) in Stockholm were nice, despite the sad reason why I went there, but it was also far too short time to get enough time to speak to my cousins.
My mother and I stayed at my brother Anders and his wife Catarina’s home. Anders was very kind and drove us wherever we needed to go, (he also attended the funeral) to and from the airport and so on. He’s a taxi driver, since 41 years back, so he’s accustomed to the traffic in Stockholm, and knows every street and place in the whole city.
Friday evening we went to Tyresö Slottskrog and ate Swedish Julbord (Christmas buffet or Swedish smorgasbord). The food was very tasty and we all got satisfied more than enough ;-)
Saturday at 12 pm we landed at the small airport, Barkåkra again, and Bertil picked us up.
Bertil had coped by himself these two days smoothly, just as I had believed.

******************************************************

Yesterday it was Christmas Eve and as usually we, Bertil, I, Maria, Anna, Ronnie, Agnes and little Tintin had Christmas dinner, here at about 13.30 pm, and then we opened our gifts.
Agnes was very tense all through the dinner. All she wanted was to open Christmas gifts. Food wasn’t interesting at all. Because she’s almost four years old, she remembered how it was last Christmas. Tintin on the other hand didn’t have any memories, he was only 6 month old last Christmas, and so he was very confused. He wasn’t that interested in opening any gifts. He just wanted to pick them up from the paper bags that we had stored them all in, but there was one gift that he got from Bertil and me that he liked very much. It was a big truck with a smaller car on its lorry platform.
We had a lovely day and evening together, as always. A big THANK YOU and lots of hugs to my dear family!
Here are some pictures from our Christmas Eve ;-)

Happy Easter!

This is a kind of old-fashioned daffodils that vegetates in a
place, Segeltorp, where Bertil grow up as a little child.
Every year at about this time, he goes there and picks a bouquet like this one.

They are double and odorize very much.

This is some kind of Grape Hyacinth...

…and here has a little hen lied her Easter egg!

Christmas - 2007

Here's a little cavalcade of pictures from our Christmas Holidays.

This Christmas card Agnes has made for Bertil and me. She has glued on, all by her self, nine small pictures depicted her self and Tintin (all the same) on a piece of brown carton.
It's so very cute!

Agnes and Tintin are waiting for the Santa to arrive...

...and here he is!

Santa was very nice and very eager to hand out the gifts that was lying on the floor.

Agnes is a bit afraid of Santa...

...so it's best to sit on Mommies lap.

Santa wanted to have a hug from Agnes, but had to be satisfied with Anna's hand.

Little Tintin looked at Santa with big eyes but hadn't, yet, the sense to be a bit afraid!

"Look what you got in your Christmas gift Tintin", Agnes says.

Bertil has got a nice warm sweatshirt from his cousin Judy and her family in Gainesville, Georgia.
“Look, here’s pockets in front and a hood”, he says.

Maria, always calm and always good looking on pictures...Don't you think so too?
She's so photogenic (don't know if I've spelled this word right), in Swedish, fotogenisk.

Anna, also calm (most of the time anyhow) is opening a gift from her grandmother.

Maria's gift to me. Four DVD's with one of my favourites, the Australian series, “Against The Wind” from sometimes in the seventies...

...and this is Anna's gift to me. A neckless with the inscription HAPPINESS.

This is a very beautiful and hand made bag from my dear, dear friend Judy.
Thanks a million times!

Last but not least! This lovely little picture and frame we got from Agnes. She has painted the frame and made what's inside/behind the glass. Sugerplum!!! - Sockerpulla!!!
THANK YOU ALL!
HAVE A NICE DAY!
