Couldn't be better

My new car ;-)

The power steering on my old VW Polo from 2002 broke down some time ago and it took very long time to get it repaired.
While it was in the workshop we were looking at a new VW Polo, and to my own surprise, we ordered this new.
It’s indeed the same color as the old, but it doesn’t matter because I like this particular color.
Now we just have to get the old one sold. Two persons are already interested, so we'll see if any of them buy it. Keep my fingers crossed =)

The Kitchen ceiling lamp became a Soda Streamer!

I wanted a new lamp in my kitchen, so said and done; I went to the electrical shop and bought a nice green lamp that I liked. When I came home I unpacked the lamp, and took down the old one, but when I looked closer I saw a scratch in the varnish. Just a small one, but if you pay 500 sek for something you want it to be faultless. I do anyhow.
Bertil went back to the shop to get a new lamp, but they didn’t have anyone at home, so we had to wait a week for a new one.
After a week we got the new lamp, and we unpacked this one too, and it was the same thing with this one. We went back to the store once again (fortunately the shop isn’t very far from here), and this time I decided that we should look at the lamp before we took it home. The only thing was that they didn’t have any green lamps left, not even back in the store room.
They had one green lamp hanging in the store, but it was the same thing with this one.
Sigh!!!! (Suck).
They had other colors on these lamps, red, black and white, and there were no scratches on these. Very strange (?). Sigh – again! I didn’t want any red, black or white lamp – I WANTED A GREEEEN ONE!!!!
We (Bertil, I and the man in the store) came to the conclusion that the machine that stamped out the lamps must have had some kind of imperfection when it made the green lamps. =((((((
In this situation I gave up my desire for a new kitchen ceiling lamp and bought us a Soda Streamer instead, whom we will have a lot of delightedness from.
I’ve put the thought of a new lamp “on the shelf”, for now anyhow.

Mammography!

I was at my annual mammography examination the day before yesterday and everybody who has made a mammography knows how painful that can be. I’m glad that I don’t have to that every day =)))
Men should be happy because if they would have gone through this kind of examination I think they would have at least fainted or worse, died!
If there was an examination for men, would that in that case be called pappography? I just don’t know which part of the body they would have had examined. Do you? ;-) =) :-) :-D

I had an appointment at the hospital in Helsingborg at 17.20 pm (!). I drove rather early from home because I would visit the big shopping center Väla before the examination.

(It takes about 50 minutes to drive down to Helsingborg. Not that that has any importance in this story, I just wanted you know the distance fairly well, it's about 35 miles, 5,6 svenska mil).
When I had made all the errands that I had decided to do, the clock only was 15.00 pm.
What should I do for nearly two and a half hour?
It had started to rain heavily and it was also some snow in the rain, so I decided to drive down to the hospital before my appointed time. Perhaps if I was lucky I could have the examination done before my appointed time if I asked nicely, otherwise I just had to sit there in the waiting room and read some of the gossip magazines that usually lies in such places.
Said and done! I parked my car in the parking house near the hospital at 15.30 and 15.53 I was on my way back home again. Quick and easy!
When I came to the mammography unit I had such luck that they had worked ahead so well that afternoon that there was a small hatch. They took me in for my examination immediately! Five minutes later I was on my way back home. So I was home before I should have had the mammography.
Once again I had some luck because when I came home it started to snow really heavily, so I was lucky that I was at home and not had to drive in that kind of weather.
When I woke up yesterday morning all the snow was gone again and the temps was +5 C (41 F).
OUCH, OUCH!!!

I have enclosed the pictures of my new bag =)))

HAVE A NICE DAY!

How Fun...

How fun it is to buy things for kids these days, especially to my grandchild Agnes. I can't remember that I felt the same when my own children were small. Perhaps that's because back then I couldn't afford to buy what ever I wanted either to them or me.
I had to think twice before I bought something so I didn't overdraw my account. Today when I'm middle-aged my finances are a lot better, but I think that that is the case for most people (at this age).
When you are young you want and need so much. You have to turn the coins around so there will be enough for everyday things. Today I have what I need and if I see something special that I would like to have, I often don't buy it because I can't allow my self to do so. I get bad conscience for spending money! Isn't that strange?

Last Thursday I went to a shopping center a couple of (Swedish) miles away. I use to buy most of the things I need there and I use to go there about once a week.
They have a department with lots of cloths for kids and I can never resist taking a sweep round there even if I don’t buy something. But this week I found a pair of “Whinnie the Pooh” shoes for Agnes that I of course couldn’t resist ;-)
I didn’t have any second thoughts or bad conscience at all when I bought them. Just felt that they would be so sweet on her cute little feet.

So…yesterday I went to a small shopping center just nearby. There are a lot of summer visitors there during the summertime and I just felt that today I will be “one of them”. Said and done, I went up there and entered in to one of the most expensive stores, “Design House Stockholm”. I looked around for a while and thought that everything was too expensive for me, but as I attend to leave the store my eyes got stuck on some colorful bags. They were very expensive, at least in my opinion, (400 sek) but I just had to have one. So I bought it!
As soon as I came out of the store that stupid conscience turned up again, but this time I actually just shook it off me and went on to the next store.
Felt very satisfied with my self there for a second =))))

Agnes's new shoes!
Here Agnes is watching a children’s DVD with the titel, "Emma och Lillebror" - "Emma and her little brother". The story is about when Emma is fixing things that has gone broken. She's using a hammer and Lillebror got hold on the hammer. He hit himself on his little index finger so it gets all red and swollen. He cries a bit, but when Emma blows on his finger everything gets well again.
Agnes feels so sorry for Lillebror and she looks so sad. But even though she get so touched by it, she wants to see it over and over again.

What a cute little "gubbe"Agnes has drawn!

Shopping day!

Maria, Marie and I went to Ullared and Gekås the day before yesterday, Thursday. Everyone in Sweden knows what and where that is. Almost everyone anyhow ;-)
Gekås is a huge shopping center in the middle of nowhere in the province Halland. We left at 7:00 am from Båstad, arrived at 8:10 am and we stayed at about 15:00 pm. At that time I had a real pain in my feet.
All three bought, of course, a lot of things we really didn’t need, as usually. But so what! We had a nice day together and that’s what counts in the end.
