What a lovely photo! When I see pictures like that I wonder why Augusta ever moved away...but I know that she had to in order to survive, and she must have hated leaving! If she hadn't left, I wouldn't be me, and I wouldn't be married to Craig, and there wouldn't be any Kristin either. And so it goes!!!

Yes sometimes I also wonder why they moved. Was it really because she had to? I never thought it was just in order to survive. I think they were a bit adventurous too, both Augusta and Carl and did what many other young people did. Moved to the big and rich/wealthy America! That's what people here thought about USA back then in the beginning of the last century(1900).
